Session Description
Imagine getting online for a job interview, when you realize you’re not meeting with a person: it’s a bot, and you’re being recorded.
This is part of the real world of job searching today. I spent 8 years working at Google, a dream job that was difficult to obtain. I want to share what I've learned about job searches in instructional design, including how to talk to that bot. In this session, I’ll give participants better keywords to streamline their search. I’ll show them what the scary word of “networking” really looks like, in action steps for informational interviews. I’ll demonstrate the STAR method to answer interview questions. Participants will get a spreadsheet to stay organized and track their leads. These tips can help participants get more interviews and higher salaries.
This session is for Graduate students and working Professionals. Whether they're still in school, or a seasoned educator who wants to transition out of the classroom and into instructional design, this session can help.
